George Abbot's Gift to Guildford    28 September to 26 October.    Free admission.

On the 400th anniversary of the founding of Abbot's Hospital on the High Street, this exhibition looks at George Abbot the man, and the wonderful Alms House he gave to Guildford. The Alms House is still a home for town residents today.

The exhibition will show some of the treasures of Abbot's Hospital that are not usually displayed to the public. It will also trace the history of life as a resident.

Cafe & Craft Shop

At the back of the House, reached by descending the stairs, is a charming secluded courtyard and the Brew House.  The Gallery Café has seating both indoors in the House itself and outside in the courtyard, where there is a heated marquee. The ground floor of the Brew House is occupied by the Gallery Craft Shop, which supports local craftspeople and offers a range of handmade craft items and a variety of fine cards.
